Founded in the spring of 1939, the New England Renaissance Conference is the oldest Renaissance Society in the United States. Since its inception the NERC has had no dues, no budget, and no fixed center except the desk of its President (and now this website). Its continuance and success therefore depend upon its members, and especially upon those who arrange for their institutions to serve as hosts.
